Gilbert Oscar Twyman, my grandfather, who started me in genealogy.  He had been tracking the Twyman ancestors for over 15 years by U. S. Mail without a computer or the WWW. When he died in 1954, I inherited all his papers.  From then until the 1980s my genealogical interest was actually dormant.
