Notes for George Twyman.

This George Twyman is nominally referred to by many genealogist as George Twyman I.

Information from Gilbert Oscar Twyman; Glennis B Neuhauser. Information also from Christ Church Parish Records.

Abstract: "Order book of Middlesex Co., VA 1673-1678", Part 1 by Ruth & Sam Sparacio, 1989. Page 89.

Court record February 4, 1677/78:

"George Twyman was adjudged to be 16yrs of age in 1677/78, a servant to Thomas Lee of Middlesex Co., VA. Coming to this country in the Shipp Recovery that sailed from London with Capt. Thomas Harberd, (or Haberd), commander.

Court record April 7, 1679:

"George Twyman, servant to Thomas Lee is ordered to serve master for absenting himself by running away 123 days..."

If George was 16 in 1677, then he would have been born in 1661. All nominal reference that I have found on George Twyman, (commonly called George I) have his birth date as 1676. I have not been able to obtain the actual book which in the Mormon Family Library in Salt Lake City. There is not a microfilm available. I have received Emails from both Gay Twyman Kennedy, finder of the original reference, and Glennis Neuhauser and we all agree that this is a good reference to the actual birth date of George Twyman.

Some descendency reports also show a daughter, Elizabeth Twyman, born about 1700, but this would make two children born in 1700.
